Prague, Czech Republic is not the place I think of first when I think of the blues, but these guys definitely have that down-home feel. The harp player/vocalist is Matej Ptaszek; I don’t know who the other two are. The washboardiste hangs his board à l’américaine–unusual for a European–and has it rigged up with a temple block and a splash cymbal. He has thimbles sewn onto gloves, and he uses these as scrapers.
More than anything else, I love the brass horn that Ptaszek uses. It gives everything he does a muddy, scratched-up-78 feel.
