The Quiet American’s Nicole Keim

It would appear that Nicole Keim’s main gig, musically speaking, is as a uke player and vocalist in the duo The Quiet American, where she plays “old time folk music for modern times.” Here, however, she’s moonlighting as a washboardiste, playing the board in what we might call la mode inversé, with the legs pointing up. She’s scraping with something akin to Vater whips, and she’s keeping it very simple–straight sixteenth notes all the way.

I really hate the fact that she can play washboard and sing at the same time.
